The following terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) apply to the Youth Flight Pass.
Art. 1 – Definitions
- “ITA Airways” refers to Italia Trasporti Aereo S.p.A.
- "Optiontown" refers to Optiontown Ireland Limited, with registered address at Mespil Business Center, Mespil House, Sussex Road, Dublin 4, Ireland.
- "Optiontown" refers to the name of the web platform operator through which the Flight Pass can be purchased on ita-airways.com in the dedicated section "Youth Flight Pass".
- “Youth Flight Pass” refers to the package of prepaid vouchers to be used for the subsequent issue of single-leg tickets equal to the number of flights selected when purchasing the package. It is sold by ITA Airways on ita-airways.com through a technological platform managed by Optiontown.
- “Purchaser” is the party who purchases the Flight Pass.
- “Passenger” refers to one or more people who can use the tickets.
- “Trip” refers to the single route on which you intend to use the voucher for the subsequent issue of the ticket.
- “Voucher” refers to the purchase voucher to be used for the subsequent issue of the ticket.
- “Ticket” means the single-way air ticket to a destination or Travel Zone of your choice, and whose dates, times and flight number can be confirmed after the purchase of the Voucher in relation to the features of the purchased Flight Pass.
- “Flights” refers to flights operated directly by ITA Airways. Flights with territorial continuity, seasonal routes and code-share flights are excluded.
- “Travel period” refers to the period within which to use each individual ticket, provided that the conditions selected during the purchase of the Flight Pass are respected.
- “Destination” is defined as the city within the ITA Airways domestic network that is the flight’s departure and/or arrival point.
- “Travel Zone” is defined as the set of destinations where you can fly using the tickets that make up the Flight Pass.
- “Travel Class” refers to the class onboard the flight on which the journey is made: Economy.
- “Booking period” refers to the minimum number of days/hours before the flight, in which it is possible to issue the ticket.
- “Booking class” is the class booked for the ticket and varies according to the availability of seats onboard.
- “Travel date restrictions” refers to the option that applies restrictions on the selection of travel dates.
- “Freedom Option” is the option that allows you, up to 1 hour before your flight’s departure, to:
- issue a ticket
- add the names of the passengers within the maximum limit allowed (with the exception of the first name, which must be declared during the purchase phase of the Flight Pass)
- change flight date and time
Art. 2 - Description of the flight pass
2.1 The Youth Flight Pass is a package of prepaid vouchers to be used for the subsequent issue of single-leg tickets. It allows travel to selected destinations throughout the year, at the rates selected during purchase, subject to seat availability.
2.2 The Youth Flight Pass is valid for young people between the ages of 12 and 25 years old, inclusive, on the date of boarding of the flight/s and are not applicable for young people between the ages of 12 and 14 traveling unaccompanied.
ITA Airways reserves the right to check possession of the necessary prerequisites for flying on the Youth Fare when the passenger boards the flight. If the prerequisites are not met, boarding will be denied and, where possible, the passenger will be offered the chance to pay the difference with the current adult fare at the ticket office.
2.3 The buyer can choose between two package types:
- Italy Youth Flight Pass: valid for flying in Economy Class to all domestic destinations in the ITA Airways network (excluding territorial continuity flights, seasonal routes, and codeshare flights)
- Sicily Youth Flight Pass: valid for flying in Economy Class from Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate to Catania and Palermo and vice versa
2.4 The Purchaser may customize the package by choosing:
- Number of Passengers: Up to 24 (the maximum number of names is equal to the number of flights of the Flight Pass chosen, except for packages consisting of six and eight flights for which the maximum number of names is two passengers)
- Number of trips: from 6 to 24
- Travel period: Up to 12 months from the purchase of the Flight Pass
- Booking period: 90 days to 1 hour before flight departure
- Freedom Option: By selecting the booking period of 1 hour before your flight
- Travel restrictions: by selecting the option that restricts travel date selection or by selecting the option that allows travel any time of year.
For each parameter, the purchaser will have several choices available that will determine the price of the Flight Pass.
Art. 3 – Sales channels
3.1 The Flight Pass can be purchased and used on ita-airways.com under the dedicated section “Youth Flight Pass” or through our Customer Information Assistance Office, by contacting us at the numbers found here.
Art. 4 – Purchase and conditions
4.1 The Purchaser shall log on to ita-airways.com, enter the dedicated section “Youth Flight Pass”, select “Buy Flight Pass”, and once redirected to the platform, choose the features of their Flight Pass. The Purchaser should then register by creating an account. Once you have obtained your login credentials, you will be able to sign in with your “Username” and “Password” and finalize the purchase by selecting your profile based on the type of trip.
4.2 Tickets can only be issued for flights operated by ITA Airways. Code share flights are excluded.
4.3 Flights with territorial continuity and seasonal routes are excluded.
4.4 Each ticket issued can only be used on a single route. When purchasing the Flight Pass, at least the name of the first passenger who can subsequently use the tickets must be entered on the platform. The other passenger names must be added, again by accessing the platform using your “Username” and “Password”, and within the chosen booking period. If you have purchased the “Freedom Option” you can enter names after the first one up to one hour before the flight departure. You can change the names of passengers entered in the system by logging into the platform using your “Username” and “Password”, entering the “Manage Flight Pass”, “Change My Flight Pass” section and after selecting the Flight Pass to be changed, you will be able to proceed with changing the passenger name for a fee.
4.5 Once you have purchased your Flight Pass, you can change some parameters chosen during the purchase process: Number of Trips, Number of Passengers, Travel Period, Booking Period, and Travel Date Restrictions—by paying a fare supplement and an additional fee that varies depending on the parameter being modified (see the summary table below):

To change the parameters, the purchaser will have to enter the section “Manage Flight Pass”, “Change my Flight Pass” and after logging in using your “Username” and “Password”, select the Flight Pass purchased and the parameter that you wish to change by choosing from the list of editable parameters. The purchaser will have to pay the fare surcharge and a fee (which varies depending on the parameter to be changed); both can be displayed during the payment transaction.
4.6 The price of the Flight Pass includes the fare, including taxes and surcharges, of the tickets that will be issued later.
4.7 The price of the Flight Pass must be paid in a single payment at the time of purchase. To issue the Voucher it will be necessary to enter the required data in your profile in order to issue the relevant invoice.
4.8 The price of the Flight Pass is variable and refers to the time of purchase of the package.
4.9 The entire Flight Pass and/or individual vouchers of the package purchased cannot be canceled and are non-refundable. No-show is not permitted; in the event of a no-show, the ticket will be considered no longer valid and no longer usable.
4.10 Baggage
Each ticket entitles the passenger to carry baggage up to the allowance for the selected travel class:
- For Economy Class, one piece of hand baggage is permitted, weighing a maximum of 8 kg. None of the Economy Class fares include checked baggage. If you want to buy checked baggage in the hold, please refer to the LIGHT FARE BAGGAGE CONDITIONS found at ita-airways.com

4.11 Tickets may be used by children under the age of 15 only if accompanied by an adult. The "Unaccompanied Minors" process is not permitted. The Youth Flight Pass offer is valid only for young people between the ages of 12 and 25 on the flight departure date. The Youth Flight Pass is not applicable to unaccompanied minors between the ages of 12 and 14. ITA Airways reserves the right to verify the eligibility of passengers using the Youth fare at the time of boarding. If passengers are unable to prove their eligibility, they will be denied boarding. Where possible, passengers will be offered the option to pay the difference between the Youth fare and the adult fare currently available.
4.12 ITA Airways declines all responsibility for damage or loss resulting from misdirected or incomplete access resulting from computer malfunctions, viruses, bugs or other causes. ITA Airways is in no way responsible for the reproduction or indirect access via third-party websites or if the website misrepresents or omits any information in the Terms and Conditions associated with the Youth Flight Pass.
4.13 ITA Airways reserves the right to change these Flight Pass Terms and Conditions at any time.
Art. 5 – Use of the flight pass for issuing tickets
5.1 To issue the ticket, the purchaser must log into ita-airways.com, enter the dedicated “Youth Flight Pass” section and select “Book Flights”. When redirected to the platform, they must log in using their “Username” and “Password”, select “Book flights”, select the Flight Pass purchased as well as the flight, date and time of departure, then select the passenger receiving the ticket and finally issue the ticket.
5.2 Tickets must be issued and used within the period defined by the “Travel Period”, unless the purchaser has also purchased the “Freedom Option”, in which case the ticket may be issued up to one hour prior to flight departure.
5.3 For those who have purchased the “Freedom Option”, changes in the date and time of the booked flight are permitted at no additional charge up to one hour before flight departure (change only possible on the web platform and subject to availability). Other passengers may change the date and time of their booked flight prior to departure, within the selected booking period, subject to a rebooking fee of €65.00 (ticket changes can only be made via the website and are subject to availability).
5.4 Tickets issued cannot be canceled or refunded with the exception of airport taxes.
5.5 None of the Flight Pass Economy Class fares includes free seat selection.
For further details, please read Additional services, “seat selection”, on the page containing the description of the service. If you do not purchase your preferred seat, the system will assign one free of charge during check-in, based on availability and operational and safety criteria.
5.6 Any ancillary services can be purchased directly on the ITA Airways website during check-in or, if available directly, at the airport.
ART. 6 – Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
6.1 The Youth Flight Pass Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Italian law. ITA Airways and each passenger accepts the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Italian courts to resolve any disputes that may arise between them.
