Seats for Minors

We want to ensure maximum comfort for the whole family, giving our little passengers the opportunity to travel as comfortably as possible. Seating arrangements for minors vary based on age:

Children in this category may be seated:

  1. In the arms of the companion
  2. By purchasing an additional seat, provided that you have your own approved car seat

In the second case, the seat must:

  • Placed between the armrests of the airplane seat (42cm/16.5 inches)
  • Installed personally on board, in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions for use (in the direction of travel or with the backrest facing forward)
  • Secured with the seat belt (two-part seats, with three anchoring points or anchoring with a metal bar are not permitted)
  • Free from defects and bears a visible approval mark from the European Union or another official public body

You can only reserve a seat for your infant on certain flights and up to 48 hours before the flight's departure by contacting Assistance.
Approved approval marks:

  • UN standard for the approval of car seats ECE R129, which replaces the previous ECE R44/04.
  • US FMVSS No. 213*
  • Canadian CMVSS 213/213.1 marking
  • German TUV/958-01/2001
  • Car seats approved for use in automobiles and tested to standards equivalent to those listed above by the Canadian transport authorities, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the Joint Civil Aviation Authority (JAA).

Bassinet on board
On some long-haul flights, a bassinet service is also available for children under 76 cm in length and weighing no more than 11 kg. This service must be requested at the time of booking. For operational reasons, even if booked, this service may not be guaranteed on board, in which case the child will travel on an adult's lap.
For safety reasons, only one infant per adult is permitted, even if the infant travels in an assigned additional seat.

Children must have their own reserved seat on board.
