ITA Airways Flight Pass FAQ

This refers to the total number of passengers who can book and fly using Flight Pass. The fewer passenger names you enter when purchasing your Flight Pass, the more you save.

There is no need to pay any additional fee for the flight fare. However, requests for additional services, such as advance seat selection, additional baggage, etc., may be charged and must be paid for in accordance with the airline’s normal policy.

Flight Pass is a package of prepaid vouchers to be used for the subsequent issue of one-way tickets. It allows travel to selected destinations throughout the year, at the rates selected during purchase, subject to seat availability. The Flight Pass for purchasing direct flights does not allow for the purchase of indirect flights with connections through Rome or Milan.

The Flight Pass has no restrictions on fares and travel classes and allows you to travel until all available seats are sold, subject to the relevant Flight Pass conditions.

Absolutely not! The price of the Flight Pass refers to the fare with taxes and surcharges always included, for all tickets issued.

Tickets include transportation on flights operated directly by ITA Airways in the selected travel class (Economy or Business) and the related services included:

Baggage allowance:

• For Economy Class, one piece of hand baggage is permitted, weighing a maximum of 8 kg. None of the Economy Class fares include checked baggage. If you wish to purchase checked baggage, please refer to the LIGHT FARE BAGGAGE POLICY found at ​ita-airways.com
• For domestic Business Class, one piece of hand baggage weighing up to 8 kg and two checked bags up to a maximum of 23 kg each is allowed.
• For international Business Class, one piece of hand baggage weighing up to 8 kg and two checked bags up to a maximum of 32 kg each is allowed.

Each ticket issued is valid for a single route of the journey: for a one-way trip, such as Rome to Catania, one ticket must be issued; for a round-trip journey, such as Rome to Catania and back, two tickets must be issued—the first for the Rome to Catania route and the second for the Catania to Rome route.

No, the Flight Pass is non-transferable and can only be used by passengers indicated by the buyer.

Yes, of course! You can share with as many people as the number of flights you choose (1 to 24), except for packages of 6 and 8 flights for which you can share with up to 2 people. For example, if you purchase a Flight Pass consisting of six trips, you can enter up to two passenger names. For 12 flights the number of passengers you can enter is up to 12.

• You must enter the name of the first passenger when purchasing the Flight Pass and add the other names within the booking period provided for the type of Flight Pass purchased. Once you add a name, you can change it to another name for a fee.
• Each passenger may travel alone, or with one or more passengers per flight. Any passenger traveling alone cannot be an unaccompanied minor under the age of 15.
• Minors under the age of 15 can be added, but they cannot travel alone, as the “Unaccompanied Minors” procedure is not permitted.

There is no minimum number of flights that each passenger must take. For example, if you purchase a Flight Pass consisting of 12 flights, a passenger can issue 1 or all 12 tickets.

No, the Flight Pass cannot be used by minors under the age of 15 unless accompanied by an adult. The “Unaccompanied Minors” procedure is not permitted.

No, there is no discount on the Flight Pass for minors under the age of 15.

To issue the ticket, the buyer must log into ita-airways.com, enter the dedicated “Flight Pass” section and select “Book Flights”. When redirected to the platform, they must log in using their “Username” and “Password”, select “Book flights”, select the Flight Pass purchased and then select the flight, date and time of departure as well as the passenger receiving the ticket, and finally issue the ticket.

Once the ticket has been issued - and before the flight departure - it is possible to change the date and time of the booked flight, subject to payment of a booking change supplement of €65 (ticket exchange only possible on the web platform and subject to availability and Flight Pass rules). Cancelation is not possible and the ticket is not refundable (refund is provided only in case of certified illness and/or death of the passenger and/or first degree relatives, as laid down by the ITA Airways General Conditions of Transport).
No-shows are not allowed; in the event of a no-show, the ticket will be considered no longer valid and no longer usable.

No, it is not possible to issue tickets after the “travel period” has expired.

Unused tickets will not be refunded.

The Flight Pass for purchasing direct flights does not allow for the purchase of indirect flights with connections through Rome or Milan. To purchase indirect flights, you will need to buy the specific flight pass for indirect flights. For example, if you wish to take a one-way trip from Catania to Trieste (which are not connected by a direct flight), you will need to issue two tickets: one for the Catania–Rome route and another for the Rome–Trieste route. If you want to take a round trip from Catania to Trieste, you will need to issue four tickets: the first for the Catania–Rome route, the second for the Rome–Trieste route, the third for the Trieste–Rome route, and the fourth for the Rome–Catania route.

To change the date and time of your ticket, ​click here, select “Book Flights,” and once you are redirected to the dedicated platform, log in using your “Username” and “Password.” Go to the “Manage Booking” section, then “Change Flight,” select the Flight Pass you purchased and the booking you wish to change, and then proceed with issuing the ticket, paying any applicable surcharge.

Yes, you can change the Flight Pass parameters you selected during the purchase process. After logging in using "Username" and "Password", go to the "Manage Flight Pass" section, "Change My Flight Pass", and after selecting the Flight Pass to be changed, proceed with changing the parameter by paying the fare difference and a surcharge

To change one or more parameters (Travel Class, Number of Trips, Number of Passengers, Travel Period, Booking Period, Blackout Dates) select “Book Flights”; once redirected to the dedicated platform, log in using your “Username” and “Password”, enter the “Manage Flight Pass” section, “Change my Flight Pass” and after selecting the Flight Pass to change, proceed with changing the parameter by paying the fare surcharge and a fee.
