ITA Airways Flight Pass FAQ

This refers to the total number of passengers who can book and fly using Flight Pass. The fewer passenger names you enter when purchasing your Flight Pass, the more you save.

There is no need to pay any additional fee for the flight fare. However, requests for additional services, such as advance seat selection, additional baggage, etc., may be charged and must be paid for in accordance with the airline’s normal policy.

The Flight Pass is a package of prepaid vouchers to be used for the subsequent issue of single-leg tickets: it allows travel to selected destinations throughout the year, at the fares chosen at the time of purchase, and until seats are sold out. The Flight Pass for the purchase of direct flights does not allow the purchase of indirect flights connecting via Rome or Milan.

The Flight Pass has no restrictions on fares and travel classes and allows you to travel until all available seats are sold, subject to the relevant Flight Pass conditions.

Absolutely not! The price of the Flight Pass refers to the fare with taxes and surcharges always included, for all tickets issued.

Tickets issued include transportation on flights operated directly by ITA Airways in the selected travel class (Economy or Business Class) and related services included:

Baggage allowance:

• For Economy Class, one piece of hand baggage is permitted, weighing a maximum of 8 kg. None of the Economy Class fares include checked baggage. If you want to purchase checked baggage, please refer to the LIGHT FARE LUGGAGE CONDITIONS found at ​ita-airways.com
• For Business Class, one piece of hand baggage weighing up to 8 kg and two checked bags up to a maximum of 23 kg each is allowed.
• For Business Class, one piece of hand baggage weighing up to 8 kg and two checked bags up to a maximum of 32 kg each is allowed.

Each ticket issued can be used for a single journey: for a one-way trip - for example, Rome-Catania - one ticket must be issued; for a round trip - for example, Rome-Catania-Rome - two tickets must be issued: the first for the Rome-Catania route and the second for the Catania-Rome route.

• You must enter the name of the first passenger when purchasing the Flight Pass and add the other names within the booking period provided for the type of Flight Pass purchased. Once you add a name, you can change it to another name for a fee.
• Each passenger may travel alone, or with one or more passengers per flight. Any passenger travelling alone cannot be an unaccompanied minor under the age of 15;
• Minors under the age of 15 can be added, but they cannot travel alone, as the “Unaccompanied Minors” procedure is not permitted.

Next, enter the “Manage Passes”, “Add Passengers” section and select the Flight Pass purchased, then enter the name of each passenger and confirm.

There is no minimum number of flights each passenger must take. For example, if you purchase a Flight Pass consisting of 12 flights, a passenger can issue 1 or all 12 tickets.

No, the Flight Pass cannot be used by minors under the age of 15 unless accompanied by an adult. The “Unaccompanied Minors” procedure is not permitted.

No, there is no discount on the Flight Pass for minors under the age of 15.

Yes, at the time of making the purchase you can request an invoice by filling in a specific form.

To issue the ticket, the buyer must log into ita-airways.com, enter the dedicated “Flight Pass” section and select “Book Flights”. When redirected to the platform, they must log in using their “Username” and “Password”, select “Book flights”, select the Flight Pass purchased and then select the flight, date and time of departure as well as the passenger receiving the ticket, and finally issue the ticket.

To issue a ticket, ​click here and select “Book flights”; once you have been redirected to the dedicated platform, log in using your “Username” and “Password”, select “Book flights”, select the Flight Pass purchased, the flight, the date, the departure time and the passenger receiving the ticket, then confirm and issue the ticket. You can search for and book ITA Airways flights as per the parameters selected in the Flight Pass.

Once the ticket has been issued - and before the flight departure - it is possible to change the date and time of the booked flight, subject to payment of a booking change supplement of €65 (ticket exchange only possible on the web platform and subject to availability and Flight Pass rules). Cancelation is not possible and the ticket is not refundable (refund is provided only in case of certified illness and/or death of the passenger and/or first degree relatives, as laid down by the ITA Airways General Conditions of Carriage). No-show is not allowed; in case of a no-show, the ticket will be considered invalid and cannot be used.

No, it is not possible to issue tickets after the “travel period” has expired.

Unused tickets will not be refunded.

In the case mentioned, you can issue tickets until May 31st. Tickets issued must be used no later than June 30th.

The Flight Pass for purchasing direct flights does not allow for the purchase of indirect flights with connections through Rome or Milan. To purchase indirect flights, you will need to buy the specific flight pass for indirect flights. For example, if you wish to take a one-way trip from Catania to Trieste (which are not connected by a direct flight), we will need to issue two tickets: one for the Catania–Rome leg and another for the Rome–Trieste route. If you want to take a round trip from Catania to Trieste, we will need to issue four tickets: the first for the Catania–Rome route, the second for the Rome–Trieste route, the third for the Trieste–Rome route, and the fourth for the Rome–Catania route.

To change the date and time of your ticket, ​click here, select “Book flights” and, once you have been redirected to the dedicated platform, log in using your “Username” and “Password”, go to “Manage Booking” > “Change Flight”, select the purchased Flight Pass and the booking to be changed, then issue the ticket subject to paying the supplement, if applicable.

Yes, you can change the Flight Pass parameters chosen during the purchase process by paying a fare surcharge and fee.

To change one or more parameters (Travel Class, Number of Trips, Number of Passengers, Travel Period, Booking Period, Blackout Dates) select “Book Flights”; once redirected to the dedicated platform, log in using your “Username” and “Password”, enter the “Manage Flight Pass” section, “Change my Flight Pass” and after selecting the Flight Pass to change, proceed with changing the parameter by paying the fare surcharge and a fee.
Editable parameters can be selected from the list of parameters that can be viewed in the “Manage Flight Pass”, “Change My Flight Pass” section.
The fare surcharge and fee that are due will be displayed during the payment transaction.
