ITA Airways is Italy’s reference airline. Co-owned by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (59%) and by Deutsche Lufthansa AG (41%), it operates passenger and cargo air transport services and guarantees Italy high-quality connections with international destinations, supporting tourism and foreign trade, and within the country, leveraging integrated mobility.
Through advanced process digitalization ensuring the best possible experience and customization, the Company’s strategy centers on customer service combined with environmental sustainability (new green, technologically advanced aircraft and use of sustainable fuels), social sustainability (equality and inclusion, for a genderless company) and governance (integration of sustainability into internal strategies and processes).
ITA Airways operates with a next-generation fleet of 99 aircraft (22 wide body and 77 narrow body) fitted with leading edge technologies and onboard Wi-Fi, optimizing the efficiency and quality of the company’s portfolio and significantly reducing environmental impact. In line with the Company’s 23-27 Strategic Plan, ITA Airways aims to upgrade around 90% of its fleet to environment-friendly aircraft that consume 25% less fuel and emit less CO₂, with the target of becoming the greenest airline company in Europe.
