CHECKLIST FOR GUIDE DOGS AND ASSISTANCE DOGS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM

The following checklist will ensure that your trip goes smoothly; have a good read before setting off:

1. PASSPORT AND VACCINATIONS
   • Always check that your guide dog’s passport and vaccinations are valid.
   • See the following web site to verify the required vaccinations: https://www.gov.uk/take-pet-abroad.
2. VETERINARY CHECKS
   • Remember to arrange the mandatory TAPEWORM–CESTODA vaccination (to be given between one VETERINARY CHECKS and five days before the dog travels).
   • Make sure that your dog is in good health to cope with the trip.
   • We recommend a trip to the vet’s as a precautionary measure.
3. CERTIFICATES
   • When booking the flight, keep your guide dog’s or assistance dog’s certification card to hand, as issued by the association responsible for training.
4. WHEN BOOKING THE FLIGHT
   • When booking the flight, remember to inform that your guide dog or assistance dog will be traveling on the flight up to two days before the date of the flight.

5. EQUIPMENT
   • Ensure you have all the necessary equipment for your dog and its needs, such as a leash, water container and suitable food.
6. ON ARRIVAL
   • Never disembark from the flight if the staff responsible for checking your dog’s documents are not with you, even if this means having to wait on board.
