CHECK IN ONLINE OR VIA OUR APP

CHECK-IN ONLINE

Save time and avoid queues at the airport, check in online. You can choose the ITA Airways APP to check in with ease. If you don't have it, download it now, it's available for iOS, on the App Store, and for Android, on Google Play.
 
During check-in, remember to select your favourite seat! This option is offered to you for a small additional fee, depending on the fare class of your ticket.

 

THREE-STEP ONLINE CHECK-IN

  1. Enter the details of your booking: select your flight and the passengers you are traveling with
  2. Select additional services: 
    • Seat selection with a supplement based on your fare class.
    • Checked-baggage     

  3. Select how to receive your boarding pass
     

If you have a bag to check in, beat the queue by placing it in the special drop-off desks, where available, or at the Business Class desks.        
 
To receive suitable assistance, check-in for unaccompanied minors and for people who have need of special assistance should take place at the airport.

WHEN DOES THE ONLINE CHECK-IN OPEN?

                                          
Online check-in is available 48 hours prior to the departure of your flight. For flights to/from the USA, online check-in is only available 24 hours prior to the departure of your flight.

WHEN IS THE LATEST I CAN CHECK IN ONLINE?

Please note that it is possible to complete the check-in, get your boarding card, change your seat or purchase extra baggage or additional services up to an hour prior to departure for international flights and up to 40 minutes prior to departure for domestic flights.

 

ADDITIONAL SERVICES

  • Do you prefer the window or the aisle? Select your on-board seat during the online check-in.
  • Would you like to travel with an extra bag in addition to your current baggage allowance? Purchase your Extra Bag now.                      

Differently abled passengers can enjoy the same discount by calling the dedicated phone number for ASSISTANCE at least one day before the flight's departure.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

Who cannot use web check-in?

Online check-in via the web or mobile app is available for all passengers traveling on flights operated by the ITA Airways, with the exception of:

  • Minors (up to and including 14 years of age) traveling alone*
  • Passengers who require special assistance**
  • Passengers with group bookings (more than 9 people)
  • Passengers traveling with special baggage (sports equipment, animals).
  • Passengers traveling on flights not operated by the ITA Airways
  • Passengers with connecting flights, for the same day, operated by airline companies other than Air Europa, Air France, KLM, Etihad and Delta Air Lines.
  • Passengers with tickets for the same booking that have been revalidated, reissued or canceled.
  • Passengers departing from:
    • Tirana
    • Pantelleria
    • Lampedusa
    • Ibiza
    • Palma de Mallorca
    • Menorca

* Minors can only check in online if they are accompanied on their journey by an adult of legal age.

**  Passengers who require assistance can request it at least 48 hours before the flight departure time, in order to receive assistance according to their specific needs from check-in to boarding.

How can I get my boarding pass?

Please select how to retrieve/print your boarding pass:

  • APP ITA Airways or ita-airways.com*
  • Check-in desks

*For the following flights, it is not possible to print your boarding card from web channels. You must retrieve it at the airport:
-flights from: Cairo, Dakar, Delhi, Tripoli, Tunis, Algiers, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Boston, Washington, San Francisco, Chicago, Malé ,Corfu, Cephalonia, Crete, Rhodes and Zante

When boarding, every passenger must present their boarding card on their mobile device. If necessary, please print a paper copy of your boarding pass at the check-in desks at the airport.

Please note: Passengers in the United States should present themselves at the check-in desks three and a half hours prior to the flight departure to complete the relevant document checks

I have bags to check in. What should I do?

Online check-in is also available if you have checked baggage. After completing the online check-in, you can quickly drop off your bag to be registered at the special Drop-off desks present in the main airports; for other airports you can drop off your bag at the Business Class desks.

If you would like to transport a greater number of bags than your ticket allows, you can purchase extra bags directly online when completing your online check-in.
