Time to Think
Need a little more time to decide? Hold your flights up to 48 hours. This allows you to sort out any remaining details and complete your booking at a guaranteed fare.
How Time to Think works:
Search for your flight and start booking
Select your flight, choose Time to Think, and continue.
Complete the booking
A fee per passenger will apply, payable by credit card. After completing the payment, you will receive a confirmation email.
Up to 48 hours to decide
Your flights have been reserved at a guaranteed fare. You now have time to resolve any pending issues or consult with your travel companions.
Complete the booking
You can find your reservations with price guarantee in the booking confirmation received via email or on the Manage your flights section.
From there, you can complete your booking.
Terms and conditions
Time to Think reservations are only available for flights operated by the following Lufthansa Group airlines: ITA Airways, Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines.
Time to Think reservations are available only to private individuals, as a full tax-deductible receipt cannot be issued.
The Time to Think reservation fee starts at EUR 7 per person and varies depending on availability, destination and the time remaining before departure. The final price will be displayed during the booking process.

Once your reservation has been confirmed, you will receive an email with all the necessary information and a link to complete your booking later. You can also choose to complete your booking at any time via the View your booking section.
Your reservation will be held up to 48 hours. You will receive an automatic email reminder 12 hours before it expires.

Important: Time to Think reservations are not available if payment is made with miles or by using a promotional code.
The fee will be charged separately and will not be applied to the total ticket price.

You cannot make changes to a Time to Think reservation during the 48-hour validity period. However, you can make a new booking at any time.
If you choose not to finalize your Time to Think reservation, it will automatically expire after 48 hours, with no action required on your part.
You can get a refund for the “Time to Think” service only if the ticket has not yet been purchased and the flight is cancelled.
If the ticket has already been purchased, the service is non-refundable, even if the flight is changed or cancelled.
Similarly, if the “Time to Think” period has expired without a purchase, the service is considered used and is non-refundable.
You will be able to add services such as seat selection, baggage or travel insurance only after completing your booking. These extras are not available during the Time to Think reservation period.
At the moment, only one flight per transaction can be reserved (one-way only or round trip). If you wish to reserve multiple flights, you can make separate Time to Think reservations.
You can confirm your Time to Think reservation at any time within the 48-hour validity period. Use the link provided in your confirmation email or go to View your booking.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to extend the reservation period. Once the 48 hours have expired, the reservation will be automatically cancelled. However, you can make a new booking at any time.
