Purchase additional bag during online check-in
Carry-on baggage: The Economy Basic fare on short- and medium-haul flights does not include carry-on baggage. Passengers traveling on an Economy Basic fare on short- and medium-haul flights who have not yet purchased a carry-on bag before check-in can add one carry-on bag for a fee during online check-in. The Economy Basic fare is available for flights with a flight number from Lufthansa/SWISS/Austrian Airlines or Brussels Airlines and where the flight is operated by Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Discover Airlines or Air Dolomiti (or a wet-leasing partner).
First baggage: Passengers travelling on an Economy Basic Fare on short- and medium-haul routes and on a Light Fare and who did not purchase an extra piece of baggage before check-in, have the option of booking one item of baggage per route during check-in for a fee.
Additional standard baggage: All passengers have the option of booking an additional standard baggage available on all routes.
Following conditions must be fulfilled:
- Passenger must have a confirmed ticket (not waiting list bookings)
- Carry-on baggage must not exceed 55 x 40 x 23 cm in size or 8 kg in weight.
- For passengers traveling in Economy and Premium Economy classes, baggage size must not exceed a weight of 23 kg and a total dimension of 158 cm (H+W+D).
- For passengers traveling in Business and First Class, baggage size must not exceed a weight of 32kg and dimensions of 158cm (H+W+D).
- Passenger checks in online more than 2 hours before departure.
- Once payment has been made, the bag charge cannot be refunded or offset separately.
- If ticket conditions allow a refund, the service can be refunded or changed accordingly.
- In case of an involuntary ticket change or refund, the service can be refunded or changed.
- In case of a fare upgrade to a higher fare, bag charge can be refunded.
Purchase of bag is not possible in the following instances
- Purchase of bag is restricted up to five bags. In case, more bags are needed, customer must contact the service center or purchase additional items of baggage at the airport.
- Baggage exceeding weight and/or dimensions cannot be purchased during online check in as it will be treated as excess baggage. In case bag exceeding weight and/or dimension, customer must contact service center or purchase at the airport.
