Gift Card Terms and Conditions

1.1. These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between users and ITA Airways, with registered office in Via Venti Settembre 97, 00187, Rome, Italy; Tax Code, VAT number and Rome Companies Register no. 15907661001, Rome Economic and Administrative Index (R.E.A.) no. 1622937, (hereinafter, “ITA Airways”).

1.2. Purchasing and/or using a Gift Card implies full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, which are made available to users at the time of purchase and via the Gift Card delivery email, and are also available on the Italian website of ITA Airways (​www.ita-airways.com).

1.3. The following terms shall have the meaning defined below, unless the context requires otherwise:

• Gift Card: the digital card that can be purchased on the website www.ita-airways.com. This is a prepaid card that can be used to purchase round-trip or one-way only airline tickets through the Italian website of ITA Airways (​www.ita-airways.com).
• Issue Date: the original issue date of the Gift Card.
• Expiration Date: the end date beyond which the consumer may no longer use the Gift Card.

2.1. The Gift Card is non-refundable. Under no circumstances may it be paid out in cash or transferred against value. Further sale of the Gift Card is likewise not permitted.

2.2. The Gift Card may only be used on the Italian website of ITA Airways (​www.ita-airways.com), including for purchases made in multiple transactions, within the validity period, until the total balance of the Gift Card has been used up completely. After the expiration date, the Gift Card may not be used, renewed or reactivated, nor may any unused remaining balance on the Gift Card be claimed or redeemed for cash. No refunds or credit notes shall be issued for the unused portion of the Gift Card.

2.3. The Gift Card may not be used to purchase further Gift Cards.

2.4. The Gift Card is not issued in the name of a specific person and will not be refunded even in the event of theft or loss.

2.5. The validity period of issued Gift Cards cannot be extended under any circumstances.

3.1. The ITA Airways Gift Card may only be used on the ITA Airways website and App for the Italian market (​www.ita-airways.com) to purchase any flight ticket and ancillary services during the booking process (it cannot be used in the Manage Flight section or during web check-in).

3.2. Gift Cards are issued in euros and can only be used for flights sold in euros. For Gift Cards purchased before March 16, 2026, you will need to contact ITA Customer Service to book flights departing from outside the Eurozone. The newly issued Gift Card will have a credit equivalent to the remaining balance available on the original Gift Card and will not be eligible for further conversion.

3.3. The Gift Card may be used up to its expiry date as specified in the Gift Card delivery email. The Gift Card expires at 11:59 p.m. UTC on the indicated expiry date.

3.4. The flight must be completed no later than 12 months after the Gift Card expiry date.

3.5. The Gift Card can be used during the booking process initiated on ​www.ita-airways.com. Gift Card details can be entered on the payment page.

3.6. The Gift Card can be used in conjunction with other discount codes and other Gift Cards (maximum of 3 Gift Cards allowed).

3.7. When purchasing a ticket, the Gift Card credit shall be applied to the total cost of the flight (fare, taxes and ancillary services, if selected). When making a payment with a Gift Card, if the booking amount is equal to or greater than the available credit, the Gift Card will be used in full. In this case, the entire payment shall be made using the Gift Card and, if the booking amount exceeds the Gift Card balance, the remaining amount shall be paid using another accepted payment method: Credit card (Visa, MasterCard and American Express) or other valid Gift Cards. Payment with the Gift Card cannot be combined with PayPal or other forms of payment linked to loyalty program rewards. At the end of the transaction, the value of the Gift Card will be adjusted to reflect any remaining balance, which will remain valid under the same conditions set out above (excluding any possibility of refund or extension of validity).

3.8. The Gift Card is non-refundable.

3.9. The Gift Card can only be purchased and used on the Italian website.

3.10. The Gift Card is not compatible with the “Time to Think” service.

3.11. In the event of a voluntary cancelation, flight-only tickets paid in full or in part with a Gift Card shall be subject to the applicable fare rules. Therefore, if the ticket is refundable, the amount will be refunded to the respective payment methods used. In the case of payment made with a Gift Card, the value will be re-credited while maintaining the original expiry date.

3.12. In the event that the flight is canceled by ITA Airways, the ticket will be refunded using the same payment method used by the customer for the purchase. If the payment was made using a Gift Card, the value will be recredited, with the validity of the Gift Card extended by 3 months, in order to allow our customers the opportunity to use it.

4.1. Right of withdrawal within 14 days: The purchaser has the right to withdraw from the purchase of the Gift Card within 14 days without providing any reason. This period begins upon receipt of the confirmation email.

4.2. Limitations: The right of withdrawal will expire early if the Gift Card is used (even partially) before the end of the 14-day period.

4.3. Refunds: In the event of a validly exercised withdrawal, ITA Airways will cancel the Gift Card code and refund the full value using the original method of payment.

5.1. Ownership of the Gift Card is transferred to the purchaser or the designated recipient upon electronic transmission of the Gift Card to the latter; therefore, from that moment, all risks, liabilities, and consequences, including loss, destruction or unauthorized use of the Gift Card shall rest exclusively with the purchaser or the designated recipient.

5.2. ITA Airways shall not be liable in the event of loss, theft, destruction, or unauthorized use of the Gift Card. Neither ITA Airways nor any of its employees or representatives shall be required to identify or otherwise verify the identity of the person presenting the Gift Card for use. ITA Airways shall not assume any responsibility if the email address of the Gift Card recipient is incorrect.

5.3. ITA Airways shall not be liable for damages resulting from the unlawful use of the Gift Card code by third parties who have correctly entered it.

6.1. ITA Airways relies on external providers for the sale and management of Gift Cards, to whom the terms relating to the processing of personal data apply, in accordance with the regulations set out on the Privacy Policy page.

6.2. ITA Airways reserves the right to supplement or otherwise amend these Terms and conditions at any time and at its sole discretion. Such supplements or amendments shall not apply to Gift Cards already issued.

6.3. These Terms and conditions are governed by Italian law. Any dispute that may arise shall be submitted to the jurisdiction of the courts of the place of residence or domicile of the consumer, pursuant to Italian Leg. Decree 206/2005.
