For tickets issued on or after 1 May 2026, the following fuel surcharge applies to fares originating in Japan.
Japan – Italy intercontinental flights
Per sector: JPY 56,800 (JPY 32,700 until 30 April) Subject to Government Approval
Includes the aviation security charge of JPY 600.
Other international and domestic Italian flights included in ITA Airways tickets issued in Japan
Per sector: JPY 4,500
Includes the aviation security charge of JPY 600.
(Fuel surcharge for children is the same as for adults / infants are exempt.)
Please note that this fuel surcharge may be reduced or discontinued if fuel prices decline.
Conditions for reduction or discontinuation of the fuel surcharge
The average fuel price in yen is calculated by multiplying the average fuel price in USD by the average exchange rate (JPY/USD) for the same period.
The fuel surcharge amount in yen is then determined according to Table 2.
If the average fuel price falls below JPY 6,000 per barrel, an application will be made to discontinue the fuel surcharge in accordance with Table 2, effective for tickets issued from the first day of the month after next.
