How to claim your offer

Seats available for this offer are limited and may vary depending on the destination, flight load, and the eligibility criteria detailed below in the FAQ and Terms and Conditions. Participating is very simple:

You can modify or cancel your offer up to 1 hour and 30 minutes before departure for domestic flights; up to 3 hours and 30 minutes before departure for international and intercontinental flights departing from Fiumicino and Linate; and up to 8 hours before departure for all other flights.

If the offer is accepted, the amount will be charged to your credit card; your current ticket will remain valid.

At check-in, you will receive the boarding pass for Premium Economy Class or Business Class.

Additional information

All customers holding an ITA Airways ticket starting with the number 055, provided they do not fall into any of the following categories:

  • tickets for which some special assistance has been requested;
  • tickets with bookings including children under two years of age
  • tickets with group bookings;
  • tickets with a pet traveling in the cabin

The number of seats made available for the initiative is limited and may vary depending on the destination and the number of seats sold for the flight.

ITA Airways may invite customers to request a flight upgrade via an invitation email if they meet the following requirements:

  • have booked the flight at least ten days before departure;
  • have entered an email address in the booking.

No, the service is only available on flights operated by ITA Airways with ticket code 055.

If you are traveling with a passenger aged between 3 and 14 (on two separate bookings) and only one of the two upgrades is confirmed, the accepted offer will be refunded, as it is not possible to travel in different cabin classes (for example, one passenger in Business Class and the other in Economy Class), unless you request the unaccompanied minor procedure for the child and pay the applicable surcharge. Please contact the ITA Airways Customer Center to complete the procedure.

No, the Upgrade with offer does not include Lounge access.

The benefits of upgrading to Premium Economy Class include:

  • Ergonomic leather armchairs, reclining by about 120° and up to 40% more space than the Economy Class;
  • Individual screens with a wide selection of films, TV series, games and music playlists;
  • welcome drink and Italian regional hot dishes, snacks or breakfast, depending on the flight time;
  • espresso and limoncello;

You will be informed via email of the outcome between 72 and 8 hours before the departure of your flight.

You may modify or cancel your offer:

If you wish to change your flight after your offer has been accepted, the amount paid for the upgrade will not be refunded. Additionally, the fare conditions of your original ticket will still apply.
If you wish to change your flight before your offer is accepted, the offer will no longer be valid. If you wish, you can make a new proposal for the new flight booked, if possible. Your previous offer cannot be automatically transferred to the new flight.

After canceling your initial offer, you can submit a new offer using the links in the upgrade offer invitation email sent to you or go to the ITA Airways website.

You will receive an email confirming that your offer was not accepted, and your original flight booking will remain unchanged. Of course, no charge will be made to your credit card.

No, it will no longer be possible to submit other offers for the same flight.

No, you cannot select a seat when submitting the upgrade offer. You will be able to select your seat during check-in only if your offer is accepted.

Any additional options such as seat selection that you may have purchased are not refundable.

No. If you have made a reservation with ITA Airways, you can contact our Customer Center and ask the operator to split the reservation. If you made your booking through a travel agency, you can make this request to your travel agent. Please note that you can submit an offer only up to 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the flight.

The ticket issued with the new booking class and the document relating to the purchase of the upgrade that will be sent to you via email, or the boarding pass issued following the web check-in.

Yes, your bid remains active and can still be accepted. This notification simply means that higher bids have been received. However, the upgrade allocation process is still ongoing, and your bid may still be successful.

No. The system has a predefined minimum and maximum value for the offer. It will not be possible to submit offers outside this established range.

Yes, you can offer different amounts for each segment of your trip, if eligible for the upgrade.

The same fare rules from your original ticket apply, including any fees for changes or cancellations. The baggage allowance remains the same as your original ticket; any excess baggage fees will still apply.

You must first cancel your current offer, after which you can submit a new offer using your preferred card.
If the offer selected for the upgrade is unsuccessful due to an issue connected to your credit card, you will receive an email alert containing a link to enter your new card details.

In the event of cancellation of a flight by ITA Airways, we will try to accommodate you in the higher travel class on the next flight, otherwise the refund for the full amount of the upgrade will be credited to the card used for the purchase.

In the event of ticket cancellation or modification, no refund will be issued for the purchased upgrade.
