Female talent
ITA Airways’ commitment to promoting female talent in the aviation sector was highlighted through a communication campaign featuring Captain Francesca Longhi, the first woman to successfully complete the Company’s new Command Courses. On the occasion of International Women’s Day – 8 March 2022 – her letter dedicated to the dreams of young girls, as well as the ambitions and determination of women in pursuing their life goals, was published as part of a communication campaign in major national newspapers.
To foster female leadership within the company, ITA Airways joined the IATA Campaign “25by2025”, a global initiative aimed at improving the gender balance in the aviation industry by increasing the representation of women in senior positions and underrepresented areas by 25%, or to a minimum of 25%, by 2025.
Data published in the 2024 Sustainability Report shows that 32% of top- and middle-management positions at ITA Airways are held by women, with the overall company workforce being 44% female.
