Airline companies with the shared goal of improving sustainability can become a member of Fly with SAF, which promotes the purchase of eco-friendly fuel while reducing aviation companies’ carbon footprint.
The program is designed for cargo companies and companies whose staff fly for work.
The contributions of the participating companies will be used entirely by ITA Airways to cover the costs of environmentally friendly fuel, which is much more expensive than conventional jet fuel.

What is SAF?
Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is a bio-fuel produced using discarded materials from various sources that helps reduce lifecycle CO2 emissions by 80% compared to fossil jet fuel. A wider use of SAF will dramatically reduce the emissions caused by air transportation. Because SAF is currently more expensive than traditional jet fuel, travelers can help speed up its adoption by choosing airline companies that use this fuel.
