WHAT TO SEE IN STUTTGART

MERCEDES-BENZ MUSEUM – For many car enthusiasts, the thematic museum of the German car brand is something of a place of pilgrimage. The automaker's 100-year history is documented with 160 vehicles on display. You can also see the popemobile, the red Mercedes SL of Princess Diana and the Type 770 used by the Japanese Emperor Hirohito. In addition to the history of the brand and its founder, special attention is paid to the technical and mechanical development of the different models.

PORSCHE MUSEUM – Porsche is a timeless myth for those who love elegant and slightly more lively sports cars. This museum is a real tribute to the German car manufacturer. It was built to the design of Viennese architect Delugan Meissl and comprises around 80 historic vehicles. The exhibition tour can also be extended to include a tour of the factory, where you can visit the place where the famous vehicles are made.

SCHLOSSPLATZ – Located in the heart of Stuttgart, this eighteenth-century square is one of the most visited places by tourists as it is lined with numerous historic buildings, monuments and museums. The main attractions of the square include the new palace, the jubilee column in honor of Emperor Wilhelm and the Württemberg State Museum. But the city's most important events also take place here, such as the Stuttgart Wine Village, the Summer Festival and the Christmas markets.

CIVIC LIBRARY – Apart from the great reference heritage of about half a million books, this particular cuboid library is worth a visit for its exceptional minimalist design, created by South Korean architect Eun Young Yi. The building has nine floors and two basements, as well as a completely empty room, the so-called ""Room of Silence"", where you can meditate on the books you read. At night, the windows of the library are illuminated in blue, creating a picturesque play of light.

SCHLOSS SOLITUDE – The castle built under the Duke of Württemberg as a private hunting lodge became known by this name. Inside you can admire numerous hunting trophies, while the outside is dotted with gardens and woods, perfect for a relaxing break away from the chaos of the city.
