The dedicated check-in desk at Fiumicino station, open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. – including a "Drop-Off" service for those who have checked in online – can be used by all passengers who have a Trenitalia ticket in conjunction with a flight operated by ITA Airways to travel to any destination served by our network. Passengers bound for the U.S. and Israel are excluded. At the explicit request of Authorities in these Destination Countries, travelers must check in at the desks in the departure terminal.

HOW CAN I BUY TICKETS?
To buy your plane + train ticket on our website or app, follow these simple steps:
- Search for the city of departure and your destination, and select the class of service; currently the class of service is only available for flights;
- Select your itinerary and purchase one ticket that includes both modes of transport.
You will still have to consult each train operator's Terms and Conditions for the train route. Terms and Conditions of the train transportation are separate and distinct from those of the air transportation.
CAN YOU PURCHASE A DUAL TICKET FOR A DOMESTIC FLIGHT?
No, you can only use the service for international and intercontinental flights. Domestic routes are not included.
IS THERE ONE TICKET OR TWO?
One combined ticket in a single transaction.
WILL I ONLY CHECK IN ONCE?
No, you have to check in twice, separately, and you will be sent two boarding cards, one for the plane journey, one for the train journey.
For your plane trip
You should check in via ITA Airways channels 48 hours prior to departure time for international flights and 24 hours prior to departure for intercontinental flights. If you wish, you can also check in at the check-in desk specifically for connecting intermodal passengers on flights operated by ITA Airways, located at the Rome Fiumicino airport train station. Open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on a trial basis until Oct. 28, 2023, this desk will not be available for passengers whose final destination is the U.S. and/or Israel. These travelers will need to check in at the departure terminal desks.
For your train trip
Log in 72 hours before departure to the Accesrail site, enter your ticket number or ITA Airways PNR and check in. Once you have completed the operation, you will receive the boarding card for your train trip.
CAN I CHECK IN FOR MY FLIGHT AT THE TRAIN STATION?
This service is available only at Rome Fiumicino Airport train station and will be available to all passengers holding a Trenitalia ticket continuing to all destinations within the ITA Airways network, with the exception of flights to the United States of America and Israel.
WHAT TRAIN STATIONS CAN BE REACHED?
ITA Airways network (excluding domestic flights) are connected with major Italian and European railway stations. When available, transfer between the train station and the airport is included in the ticket.

WHAT IS ACCESRAIL?
AccesRail is a provider that allows you to combine your ITA Airways flight with train routes thanks to intermodal agreements it has signed with several European rail operators.
HOW MUCH DOES THE TRAIN TICKET COST?
The price of train transportation is included in the cost of the intermodal ticket issued by ITA Airways for the entire origin/destination journey, so you will not need to purchase an additional ticket. Additional charges may apply if you wish to purchase optional travel services directly from the train operator.
HOW WILL MY BAGGAGE BE HANDLED?
Your luggage will not be automatically transferred between the train and the plane; you will need to pick up your luggage at the connecting station or airport in order to take it with you on the next leg.

For the plane trip
If you require assistance, please contact the ITA Airways Customer Center directly.
For the train trip
The arrangement of additional assistance services in special situations, such as traveling with unaccompanied minors, pets or service animals, depends on the individual rules and regulations of the train company operating the service.
In addition, travelers who require additional assistance with wheelchairs or other medical equipment should consult the guidelines belonging to the specific train operator. If you are using a wheelchair or an unaccompanied minor service provided by ITA Airways for your flight, please note that this service is not available outside the airport baggage claim area.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO BOOK SEATS FOR THE PLANE AND TRAIN TRIPS?
For the plane trip
Seat selection is possible when purchasing your ticket online, at ita-airways.com and on our app, through travel agencies, ITA Airways airport ticket offices, or via our Customer Center.
For the train trip
You cannot choose your seat, however it will be automatically assigned when you check in for the train trip on accessrail.com
HOW CAN I CHANGE OR MODIFY MY BOOKING?
To modify or change your reservation, please contact the ITA Airways Call Center by contacting us from Italy at 800 936090 (daily 6 am - 12 am) and from outside of Italy at +39 06 85960020 (daily 6 am - 12 am CET)
If you purchased your ticket at a travel agent, please speak directly to your travel agent.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY FLIGHT/TRAIN IS DELAYED?
Flight delayed
If you miss your scheduled train because of a delayed flight, head to the train company's service desk at the station. A customer service representative will assist you and print you a new ticket.
Train delayed
If you miss your connecting flight due to a train delay, please go to the ITA Airways ticket office at the airport to receive a new airline ticket and to be automatically rebooked on the next flight.
CAN I USE MY VOLARE POINTS?
Yes, for the entire cost of the combined ticket.
