The geographical scope of the Program is the territory of Italy.

5. PROGRAM PROCEDURES AND STAGES

Registration

Program registration is always free of charge.

To join the Program, the user must register via the www.ita-airways.com website or the “ITA Airways” application, downloadable from the following app stores: Apple Store and Play Store, or through other channels communicated by ITA from time to time.

When registering for the Program, the Member will be asked to create credentials (email, password) and provide personal data (including, by way of example and not limited to: first name, last name, date of birth, phone number, address and gender) necessary to access their Personal Area.

With particular reference to the registration of a Minor Member, the Adult Member registering the Minor Member will be required to provide a self‑declaration certifying parental responsibility and any relevant authorizations, as well as the Adult Member’s personal email address, which must coincide with the email address used to register in the Volare Program. The personal data provided by Members at registration must be truthful and accurate in every respect.

The Promoter and the Co‑Promoter reserve the right to carry out verification activities relating to compliance with Program registration requirements and to correct any typographical errors in the data provided, to the extent necessary to allow the Member to participate in the Program.

At the first access attempt, the Member will be asked to confirm the email address provided at registration and, if verification is successful, each person will be associated with a single profile for Program participation purposes and, therefore, each Member may have only one Points wallet. If the Member registered more than once, they must contact Customer Care using the contacts indicated in Article 12 below, or access their Personal Area and request deletion of one of the accounts.

Please note that Non‑Qualifying Points may be transferred between two or more accounts within the Family up to a maximum of 100,000 Points per calendar year of Program duration; Non‑Qualifying Points may also be transferred between accounts of Members not belonging to the same Family in the ways, terms, limitations and minimum thresholds indicated by the Promoter from time to time in the section https://www.ita-airways.com/en_it/volare/redemption.html.

ITA Airways and the Co‑Promoter reserve the right to carry out appropriate compliance checks and deny participation and/or exclude Members from the Program and/or cancel any Points and/or Rewards requested, for individuals who do not meet the requirements set out in these Regulations or, at the sole discretion of ITA Airways or third parties appointed by ITA Airways, where participation is deemed to have occurred without complying with these Regulations or using means, methods and/or tools considered suspicious, fraudulent or in violation of the normal operation of the initiative.

Registration in the Program at the time the Member purchases or takes the first flight and/or uses Partner services is a necessary condition for the accumulation of Points, as set out in the paragraph “Earning Points” below.

Procedure

Upon completion of registration, the Member will receive the Volare Code corresponding to their account. Using the Volare Code, within their restricted area, the Member may:

  • access their Points balance;
  • receive the Points earned following each flight taken by the Member and each purchase that entitles them to earn Points (see the paragraph “Earning Points” below);
  • use the Points request function (so‑called “retrocredit”) in their Personal Area to obtain the crediting of Points linked to flights for which the Volare Code was not entered at purchase or at check‑in. In such case, the ticket number must be entered in the retrocredit request. Retrocredit can be obtained only within 12 (twelve) months from the flight date of the ticket for which Points are requested. Retrocredit credit may also be obtained for Partner airline flights in accordance with the terms and conditions indicated in the dedicated section of the website https://www.loyaltyprogram.ita-airways.com/en_gb/airline/;
  • only for Adult Members, create a Family with other users, as specified below.

Family

An Adult Member, through their Personal Area, may create a Family by accessing the “Create a Family” section and adding other accounts.

Please note that the Family must consist of active accounts; therefore, if a Member exercises the right of withdrawal and deletes their profile, they will be automatically excluded from the Family. If the Family no longer consists of a minimum of 2 accounts (1 Adult Member and 1 Minor Member), it will automatically cease to be active.

If the Adult Member who completed the registration of one or more Minor Members deletes their profile, the profile(s) of the Minor Member(s) will not be deleted. To delete a Minor Member profile, the Adult Member must follow the same procedure provided for deleting an Adult Member.

Accounts participating in the Family may exchange earned and credited Non‑Qualifying Points up to a maximum threshold of 100,000 Points for each calendar year of Program duration. The total of Points transferred within the Family is reset on 31 December of each year of Program duration and restarts on 1 January of the following calendar year. Points transferred within the Family are not included in the calculation of the limit of Points transferable between accounts not participating in the Family.

Earning Points

The methods of earning Points shall remain unchanged until 30 March 2026 inclusive.

Each Member will have access to a personal account where the Points they are entitled to will be accumulated and credited.

Points will be credited automatically in each of the circumstances listed below, without prejudice to the Member’s responsibility to provide their Volare Code at the time of purchasing the goods/services promoted by ITA Airways, or at check‑in:

  • flights simultaneously sold and operated by ITA Airways, actually purchased by, or on behalf of, the Member and taken by that same individual, without prejudice to the awarding of Points, as soon as technically possible, also for flights sold and/or operated by ITA Airways partner carriers, as communicated by ITA Airways from time to time through the dedicated section of the www.ita-airways.com website or the “ITA Airways” app. Flights purchased but not taken (including due to cancellation, without prejudice to ITA Airways’ policies on any refunds) do not entitle the Member to earn Points;
  • purchase and use of goods and/or services provided by ITA Airways (on‑board boutique), as soon as technically available;
  • additional Points earning opportunities communicated from time to time by ITA Airways and the Co‑Promoter.

Please note that awarding of Points is subject to registration in the Program, which must occur before the Member has flown and/or used Partner services. Otherwise, the Member is not entitled to earn Points.

The number of Points earned is calculated on the basis of the customer’s spend (so‑called revenue‑based model), net of taxes and any other charges (including VAT), starting from the model 1 euro = 10 Points (with possible increases linked to the Member’s status in one of the Exclusive Clubs referred to in Article 7 below and to the type of ticket purchased, as per Annex A).

Points earning as a result of purchasing airline tickets may also occur based on the type of purchase (class, destination, etc.), with the possibility of receiving bonus Points, in ways that will be communicated by ITA Airways from time to time. ITA Airways further reserves the right to communicate from time to time a different number of Points that can be earned in relation to the different types of ticket purchased.

With particular reference to Members who purchase airline tickets as part of a group booking in Economy, Premium Economy and Business service class, the following Non‑Qualifying Points will be awarded:

  • 250 Non‑Qualifying Points for domestic flights;
  • 500 Non‑Qualifying Points for international flights;
  • 1,500 Non‑Qualifying Points for intercontinental flights.

Points earned as part of group bookings may be subject to promotions as communicated from time to time by the Promoter and the Co‑Promoter. The Promoter and the Co‑Promoter reserve the right to change the name of the relevant class, notifying Members accordingly.

Non‑Qualifying Points may also be earned through the purchase of ITA Airways ancillary services (including, by way of example and not limited to, lounge access, travel class upgrade, the addition of extra baggage, where selected at the time of ticket purchase), possibly with the opportunity to receive bonus Points, in ways communicated from time to time by ITA Airways through the dedicated section of the www.ita-airways.com website or the “ITA Airways” app.

In the case of ancillary services, the Points earned are Non‑Qualifying Points, unless otherwise communicated by ITA Airways, will not be counted for the purpose of calculating thresholds for access to the Exclusive Clubs (as defined in Article 7 below), and the multipliers relating to membership in those Exclusive Clubs will not apply.

Please also note that, save for limited-time promotions communicated from time to time through the dedicated section of the www.ita-airways.com website or the “ITA Airways” app, the following ticket types do not entitle the Member to earn Points: (i) tickets subject to special discounted terms and conditions (e.g., employee tickets, humanitarian flights, flights organised by national authorities); (ii) tickets for charter flights; (iii) tickets purchased using e‑coupons (discount vouchers or gift cards) for the portion of the ticket value paid using the coupon, or tickets purchased in “Cash&Points” mode, without prejudice to tickets purchased using Points from the “Points Back” initiative, as illustrated in the relevant annex to these Regulations; and (iv) tickets obtained in “award ticket” mode, as further specified below.

Special Points earning methods, subject to updates

Starting from 11 July 2023 and until the expiry of the operation, Members who hold an ITA Airways American Express Credit Card, obtained and activated pursuant to American Express’ issuance terms and conditions, are entitled to earn additional Points and, under certain conditions, to receive a re-credit of spent Points through the Points Back mechanism, as described in the relevant annex to these Regulations.

Similar initiatives providing for special allocation of Points or special Points earning methods may be periodically proposed at the discretion of the Promoter and the Co‑Promoter, also together with Partners, under the terms and conditions that will be disclosed through the dedicated section of the website https://www.ita-airways.com/en_it/volare/promotions.html or through the “ITA Airways” app.

Using Points

Members may use Points earned in accordance with the “Earning Points” section above to request the following Rewards:

  • purchase, in the so‑called “Cash&Points” mode, ITA Airways airline tickets (indicative values are shown in Annex A) until 30 March 2026;
  • obtain an “Award Ticket” for ITA Airways and/or Partner flights (indicative values are available at: https://www.ita-airways.com/content/dam/ita/files/IT/programma-volare/TC_Award_Ticket_EN.pdf) until 30 March 2026;
  • purchase ITA Airways ancillary services (including, by way of example and not limited to, lounge access, the addition of extra baggage, where selected at the time of ticket purchase) until 30 March 2026;
  • purchase Partner goods and services until 30 April 2026.

Points may be used through a dedicated section within the Member’s personal profile on the www.ita-airways.com website and in the ITA Airways app, or through other methods defined and communicated from time to time to the Member by ITA Airways and the Co‑Promoter.

Purchase in Cash&Points mode

Before completing each purchase, at any time up to 30 March 2026 and for any class of all flights available on the www.ita-airways.com website, the interested Member, having ensured they have logged into their personal profile, must enter their Volare Code and the transaction will occur automatically by deducting from the Points balance an amount equivalent to the price of the goods/services purchased.

The methods of paying the difference between the Points used and the price of the goods/services purchased under the “Cash&Points” system, as well as any limitations, are indicated by the Promoter from time to time in the “Cash&Points” section of the www.ita-airways.com website, in any case before the Member completes the purchase.

It is understood that taxes and any other applicable charges (including VAT) cannot be paid using Points. It is also understood that, in the case of purchases in “Cash&Points” mode, no Points will be earned in relation to the portion of the amount paid in cash.

Points will be converted into different currencies according to the IATA exchange rate, which is subject to monthly updates. The minimum number of Points that can be used by the Member is equal to 1/20 of the ticket cost.

If the Member’s Points balance is not sufficient to cover the entire price of the goods/services they intend to purchase, the price will nevertheless be reduced by an amount corresponding to the available Points.

Upon completion of a transaction involving the use of Points for the purchase of goods and/or services offered by ITA Airways, the Member will be able to see the Points used in the payment summary, on the account statement and in their Points wallet.

Award Ticket

The Member may use Non‑Qualifying Points until 30 March 2026 to obtain a reward airline ticket, the so‑called “Award Ticket”. The Member may request an Award Ticket by contacting Customer Care, following the instructions available at: https://www.ita-airways.com/en_it/volare/theprogram/volare-contacts.html, as well as through a dedicated section in their Volare Personal Area and/or through other methods defined and communicated from time to time to the Member by ITA Airways and the Co‑Promoter, under the terms and conditions specified on ITA Airways’ website at: https://www.ita-airways.com/content/dam/ita/files/EN/volare-program/TC_Award_Ticket_EN.pdf.

Award Tickets may be requested in Economy, Premium Economy and Business class for itineraries consisting solely of ITA Airways flights, and in Economy and Business class for mixed itineraries (i.e., jointly operated by ITA Airways and partner carriers) or for itineraries operated by partner carriers.

In particular, the Member may use Points to cover the ticket cost obtained through an Award Ticket and related surcharges (e.g., distribution and fuel surcharges). Please note that taxes and any additional applicable charges (including VAT) cannot be paid with Points.

Moreover, it will not be possible to earn Points on any portion of the amount paid in cash.

The number of Points required to obtain an Award Ticket is governed by the tables published and available at: https://www.ita-airways.com/content/dam/ita/files/EN/volare-program/TC_Award_Ticket_EN.pdf. All limitations and specific conditions for using Points via Award Ticket are available at the same link.

In the event of schedule changes or flight cancellation for tickets purchased using Points through “Cash&Points” and “Award Ticket” modes, ITA Airways’ policies shall apply (see https://www.ita-airways.com/en_it/fly-ita/ita-world/passenger-rights/delays-and-cancellations.html) and, where the relevant conditions are met, refunds will be granted using the same payment method as the original purchase (Points, cash or a combination of Points and cash, it being understood that airport taxes will always be refunded in cash). Where a refund is made, in whole or in part, through re-crediting of Points, the Member will see the update of their available Points in their Points wallet as soon as technically possible.

It is understood that, once the right of withdrawal from the Program has been exercised and the account has been permanently deleted, it will not be possible to obtain a refund of the portion of Points used for any purchases made in “Cash&Points” or “Award Ticket” mode.

Requests to change or cancel goods/services obtained using Points through the “Cash&Points” and “Award Ticket” methods submitted by the Member after 30 March 2026 will be handled as follows:

Change: change requests will not be accepted.

Cancellation: cancellation requests will be accepted and the Member will be refunded exclusively for the amount paid in currency, in accordance with applicable law.

It is understood that Points and/or Rewards awarded to Members do not give any right to request conversion into cash. The Member may not earn additional Points as a result of the award and use of a Reward that has been obtained, in whole or in part, using accumulated Points, unless otherwise specified and communicated to Members by ITA Airways and the Co‑Promoter.

For goods purchased using Points, the statutory legal guarantee of conformity pursuant to Articles 128 et seq. of Legislative Decree No. 206 of 6 September 2005 (Consumer Code) shall apply, where relevant.

Withdrawal

Each Member may withdraw from the Program at any time and free of charge by using the “Delete profile” section of the Personal Area on the www.ita-airways.com website or through the “ITA Airways” app. Withdrawal will be effective 15 days after the Member has expressed their intention to withdraw from the Program through the above methods; once the notice period has expired, the user will lose all accumulated Points and access to benefits associated with the Exclusive Clubs (as defined in Article 7 below) and benefits linked to holding a co‑branded card, as defined in the annex “ITA Airways – American Express: co‑branded Cards and Points Back”.

During the 15 (fifteen) day notice period, the Member may earn new Points, which will, however, be deleted when the profile is deleted. The Member may, during the notice period, revoke withdrawal and reactivate their account. Points earned during the notice period may not be used unless the Member revokes withdrawal and reactivates the account.

ITA reserves the right to carry out any checks required to ensure that the provision of the Additional Club Card is compliant with these Regulations, in full compliance with Privacy legislation. Members are invited to inform ITA Airways Customer Service of any suspicious or fraudulent activity relating to the Additional Club Card.
