ITA Airways is attentive to the needs of the communities of its own country and of those in which it operates.
To this end, it provides direct support to social initiatives and charities.
ITA Airways has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Italian Red Cross for its 160th anniversary. The aim is to affirm the two entities’ common and shared intention to collaborate in the implementation of awareness-raising initiatives and in the promotion of activities of common interest in the social and health sector. ITA Airways has also supported the week of World Red Cross Day and Red Crescent Day, offering discount codes for volunteers and, through the Organization, donating blankets for the 2022 flood emergency in the Marche region of Italy.
ITA Airways supports FAI - Fondo per l'Ambiente Italiano (the Italian Environment Fund) through its Corporate Golden Donor membership program, with the aim of working together to promote local tourism by enhancing regional excellence. ITA Airways is also the main sponsor of FAI's Giornate d'Autunno (Autumn Days), an initiative dedicated to promoting special visits to hundreds of extraordinary places throughout Italy, usually inaccessible or less well-known.
As part of its collaboration with Komen Italia, ITA Airways is participating in Race for the Cure - the association's signature sporting event supporting the fight against breast cancer - with a company team of runners, and in Carovana della Prevenzione - an initiative dedicated to the culture of health - by offering its employees the opportunity to perform free screenings aimed at combating the main gender-related oncological pathologies.
In synergy with the non-profit organization Rise Against Hunger, ITA Airways organizes solidarity-based teambuilding initiatives for its employees with the aim of raising awareness throughout the company on the fight against world hunger. The kits packaged in the first two years of the event were donated to children in disadvantaged countries in which the Organization works and to Caritas in Rome.
On November 25th, ITA Airways participated, alongside Fondazione Atena, in the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women by organizing a series of awareness-raising initiatives dedicated to passengers and staff. The activities planned for the day included: distribution of informative material, a dedicated on-board announcement, a representative pin to be worn by male flight attendants, lighting up the FCO headquarters in red.
ITA Airways has developed a campaign with Unicef for the Ukrainian population and has organized a humanitarian flight to transport 10 tons of aid and bring to Italy citizens fleeing from the areas affected by the crisis.
ITA Airways supports Sonders&Beach, a tourism group with experience in promoting socially inclusive and sustainable tourism, in line with new EU policy. S&B is committed to creating travel experiences of freedom and well-being for every traveler, promoting the local territory and supporting customers in making responsible and inclusive travel choices.
