Occupational Health and Safety Policy
The Company Italia Trasporto Aereo S.p.A., an industry leader operating nationally and internationally in the field of air transport, considers protection of the health, safety and well-being of individuals a fundamental value and an absolute operational priority.
The Company is fully committed to reducing the exposure of workers and third parties to work-related risks by preventing and eradicating occupational accidents and illnesses.
Ever aware of its role and responsibilities toward workers and external parties, as well as customers and suppliers, the Company actively safeguards the psycho-physical health of workers and of all third parties who may be affected by their activities.
To this end, the Company constantly undertakes to spread an internal culture of safety at work and to promote conscious and safe behaviors by all workers through an understanding of the typical risks associated with its activities and of the means of preventing such risks.
To confirm its commitment, the Company has decided to adopt an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) developed in accordance with the ISO 45001:2023 standard, regarding this as a valid support tool for the optimization of processes ensuring a safe and healthy working environment and adequate training in workplace safety.
The OHSMS has been developed in line with the following objectives:
- Ensuring the best health and safety conditions for all workers working at or on behalf of the Company by identifying and assessing in advance all risks arising from the activities carried out;
- Protecting the health and safety of workers in the performance of their occupational activities;
- Minimizing accidents by identifying and assessing all risks in advance and putting in place appropriate preventive measures;
- Making healthy, safe workplaces available through regular testing and maintenance of facilities and equipment;
- Taking all necessary measures and leveraging experience and technology to protect the well-being and physical health of workers by building a healthy working environment;
- Ensuring the presence of people with specific roles and responsibilities, acting as points of reference in the field of health and safety;
- Establishing and maintaining a constructive dialog with employees, also through the involvement of Workers' Safety Representatives (WSR).
The Company undertakes to make available all the organizational and financial resources needed to achieve these objectives.
Moreover, with a view to continuously improving its processes and performance, the Company is committed to:
- continuously verifying the suitability, adequacy and effectiveness of its Occupational Health and Safety Management System, comparing these factors against the requirements of the UN ISO 45001:2023 standard, and assessing the achievement of improvement objectives as part of Senior Management’s periodic review;
- operating in compliance with all national and regional laws and local measures relating to prevention applicable to the Company, as well as with the internal rules the Company has adopted and voluntarily decided to follow;
- promoting a culture of risk prevention and health protection for workers and third parties within the organization;
- maintaining a constant focus on the prevention of emergency situations and ensuring timely and effective response through continuous awareness-raising and training;
- adopting work equipment, procedures and arrangements such as to minimize the risk of accidents and prevent occupational accidents and illnesses, with a view to ensuring the highest standards of safety by providing safe and healthy working conditions;
- fostering the involvement, consultation and accountability of all staff and Workers' Safety Representatives, and promoting an awareness of health and safety risks, objectives and targets;
- promoting effective and synergistic collaboration with suppliers with a view to integrating prevention and protection processes, ensuring that all those working on behalf of the organization are informed of the Company's occupational health and safety policy and comply with the procedures of the OHSMS applicable to their activities;
- implementing objectives and action plans, ensuring that the necessary financial resources are available for implementation of the actions provided for in the improvement plans and defining instruments for their verification and measurement.
Italia Trasporto Aereo S.p.A. undertakes to disseminate, communicate and make this policy available at all levels of the Organization and to regularly check its relevance and appropriateness with regard to the Company’s objectives.
Working with a sense of responsibility and being committed to continuous improvement in the implementation of all issues related to the Occupational Health and Safety Management System is an integral part of every employee's duties and one of the company's main strengths.
