What does upgrading onboard entail?
This service allows travelers to improve their flight experience by purchasing an upgrade to a higher travel class (Premium Economy or Business) directly onboard the airplane, subject to availability in the required cabin.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
All passengers flying on an airplane operated by ITA Airways can buy an upgrade to Business Class or Premium Economy directly onboard. The offer only applies to long-haul intercontinental routes on an Airbus A350-900, A330-900 or A330-200 airplane.
Upgrade options:
- From Economy to Premium Economy
- From Economy to Business
- From Premium Economy to Business
- Upgrades purchased onboard are only valid for that flight and not for any connecting flight
- The Upgrade service is subject to seat availability and will be made on a first-come, first-serve basis, solely at the discretion of ITA Airways.
- Onboard upgrades are not available for the following customers:
- Passengers who have booked special assistance or special meals
- Passengers traveling with an onboard pet
- This service is non-refundable.
- Upgrades do not entitle the passenger to additional points over and above those earned with the original ticket.
